Going for Lap on Monday

I'm sort of freaking out here.  I have my pre-op tomorrow so I know my doc will calm my fears...or maybe not, lol.  She thinks no one EVER has pain. GRRR!!!!!  Anyways, my lap is Monday afternoon.  They reassured me I'd be back to work on Wednesday.  I don't have time to take off so being off two days is more than I really have to give.  Will I be able to go back on Wednesday?  I just sit at a desk all day, but I'm wondering how painful it will be to sit all day?  Then on Friday I will on an all-day field trip with my daughter..this concerns me too.

The lap is supposed to be just diagnostic for endometriosis.  Any tips, advice, anything is appreciated!

Hi,
I have a really good endo specialist and he did the excision surgery but I keep getting those endometrioma that tends to rupture. I was doing good until now. My last surgery was in 2006 due to rupture endometrioma. I was in so much pain when that happen and had fluid collected and had to be cleaned out. I am on the nuva ring now and that is the only bc that I could take any others would put me at risk for health complication like before. I am a tough case. I only get the endometrioma on my left ovary and it get big enough to be removed,so they are concern. I went through this in 2006 when it ruptured. They don't want it to rupture again. Eventhough my last surgery was emergency and all this happen but it was a breeze compared to the first one. I took it easy on my last one so I could recover better. They are trying to find a reason why I get endometriomas in the same spot. He is one of the best where I live. I am going for the ultrasound today to find out the size of the endometrioma. I will get my results some time during the early week.

Hi,
I had three surgeries already for stage IV endo and now I might be having my fourth next month. It all depends on what they find and how soon you bounce back. My first surgery was rough, I cought an infection on my incinsion due to the dermabond they used. I was allergic to the dermabond and had kidney infection. I was out of work for almost 3 weeks. My first was my worst and said that I would never have another one but 7 months after my first one I had a second one. Two years after my second I had my third one. My other two was a breeze. I went shopping later that day after having my second surgery. Good Luck with your surgery and recovery! Any questions that you may have you can ask me.

Hi There,

Depending on how much they find, and what they need to remove will depend on your recovery time.   They found stage 2 endo and removed quite a bit out for me.   The most pain that I had was in my shoulder.  There was some leftover air that was stuck in my body that goes up to your shoulder.  I couldn't lay down flat, had to sit up.  I missed 5 days of work I think, plus the weekend and returned the following week.  If you lay and bed and take the medication they give you for the pain, you should be alright within a few days.  Just take it easy!!

Hope that helps!
