Okay I think it might be possible that you might have mistaken the diagnoses with "Endometritis" let me know if this makes any sense. If it's this below the antibiotic will most likely have started to work by the time you get back to me.
"This is not endometriosis - as she said, she was diagnosed with endomeTRITIS - that's an infection involving the lining of the womb and would explain the malodorous discharge (although is not the only source of abnormal discharge). She should continue with the antibiotics and if her symptoms don't improve she should go back. It's an infection and will pass and she'll be fine."
Sorry one more
Endometritis (infection of the Endometrium) is common after giving birth. The antibiotics are both very strong so they should hopefully run their course very quickly. If there is any increased symptoms or fever, contact your Dr right away. The brownish discharge may also be blood that was not fully expelled during labor. It is important to rest as much as possible and increase your fluid intake. Feel better soon...and congratulations on the birth of your son!!!! :)
4) If it smells like poop then my first thought is a fistula.
Fistula sounds like its a possibility as most people are mentioning that.
I will be back with some more when they are posted. Hope it helps
These are some responses I received
1) Sounds like she may have endo, how awful going through what she just experienced. Hope she gets answers soon.
2) Sounds like an infection. Would follow up with the gyno
3) Definitely sounds like an infection. I've had foul smelling funky coloured discharge when I had a haematoma and raging infection...
Could it also possibly be a fistula from childbirth?
Welcome to the Endometriosis Forum. I am wondering something after reading your post. Do you have Endo or is that what the ER said you had? did they do an ultrasound? Was there fluid in the pelvic cavity or did they just suspect that is what it was?
The smell and colour sound like old blood with a mix of an infection but I am not a doctor. I would continue with the antibiotic as well until its completely done.
did they check to see if you had a rectal or vaginal prolapse?
I am going to post parts of your question in this forum that I go to if I don't have the answer to see what they have to say if that is okay. They are very helpful and there are thousands of women on there so they might be able to help :)
