I was on birth control for years and used in continuously for months at a time (Yasmin) and it didn't stop my endometriosis.
Hi. I had endometriosis on both ovaries and tumor on my right ovary and 10 cm chocolate cyst. I had lap done (at the age of 19) and my right ovary was removed. Since than I was taking Yasmin pills (they are ok, because there aren't any unpleasent and serious side effects). But, because I have problems on my left ovary, too I had to do another lap, but I didn't want to, so I went to a puncture (they sucked the cysts and the blood). After that I took Zoladex shots for 6 months (they make you go into the condition of an early menopause). I was 22 while I was taking Zoladex shots and I felt horrible! Hormonal disbalance, mood changes, irittabillity, depression, decreased sex drive, weight changes, sweating a lot... It was like in hell! After that I continued with Yasmin again, because my body needed to come back to normal. So, I am 23 now, I am taking Yasmin to recover a little from the Zoladex shock and when I decide to try to become pregnant I will stop with Yasmin. I think that endometriosis is always there, maybe medications and pregnancy make some space, and endometriosis is gone for some period of time, but it's not forever gone. Every solution is just temporary. In some cases endometriosis dissapears after pregnancy or after surgery and medications, but I think that's rare, at least form my experience and of the experience of the women I know. Everything happened so early and so fast in my case, so i live faster and I think further. It influences a lot on the life habits and on everything. But, that's a part of our lives, so we must learn to live with that and to accept all bad things and to try to make some things that we can as much better as we can. So, Yasmin are good and exercises and diets help to feel better. Just try to relax and live as healthy as you can. Think pozitive and enjoy in the little good things that are part of the life. And second opinion is very important! So, don't decide anything untill you talk to other doctor.
Take care and don't worry too much! I know how awful it is, but we can't avoid some things and we must deal with them. Wish you all the best!
hi there I have endo inside my ovaries and at the pouch of douglas - behind cervix - my growths inside my ovaries are 3cm I will only be having my operation in about 6 months to try remove the growths - are you seeing a specialist? how large were your growths?
till my operation my specialist has put me back onto the pill to help the endo from getting worse - he is the top specialist here he says any pill will work so I am taking Femodene ED and have no side effects to it also try a suplement called comiga vite its omega oils its clinically proven to help with endo so its worth trying - my specailist said to take 2 of them before going to sleep - you get it over the counter and it can do no harm as its all natural so worth trying
take care
