Lupron and bleeding

Hi there. I started Lupron with the "add back" (Micronor & Estrace) about a month ago. I have been bleeding through about 3 weeks of the month. I also have a Mirena IUD, which hasn't stopped my period, although it has slowed it down. Did anyone else experience this on Lupron? I feel with the IUD plus Micronor (which is another BCP) I should not be bleeding at all anymore.

Also feeling pretty low dips in my mood as of that last two weeks. I understand this was a possible side effect. Did anyone have this reduce after some time? Considering not going through with my next 3 month dose if it gets any worse or more frequent.

Thanks for the help :)

You are in good hands with him. He did two of my surgeries and is one of the best in canada and one of the only ones I trust to touch me. He is an amazing surgeon so if he says it's okay I would be fine with that.

You must be a local to me and might benefit going to the Toronto endometriosis meetings every second Thursday of each month.

Thanks!
I was concerned with being on Mirena IUD as well as Lupron +add back, but was told by Leyland it was fine. Pharmacist also said they found no issues betwen the different drugs.

My Lap, I am actually unsure about...my OBGYN performed it and while in recovery she advised me/my mom that she was able to get rid of 90% of lesions on Bladder/Bowel and Endomitrioma on (L) ovary. Then when I had a consult with Leyland, her notes mentioned that she was unable to get all of it and it was extensive throughout bladder/bowel and minimal lesions were removed. So this was news to me...1 year later.

Leylands approach with me was give the Lupron a chance - if it doesnt work, we will schedule surgery.

Lupron isn't all bad - as I seem to no longer have the left sided pain from my ovary. But after bleeding 2.5 years more often than not, I'm getting really annyoed with all of this, as it wont seem to stop. If the mood/depression becomes worse/more frequent, I likely wont continue with the second dose. Hoping to speak with Leylands office Monday to see about surgery date.

Welcome to the Endometriosis forum. I am an Endometriosis advocate and I am here to help the best I can.

To be honest I don't think that I have heard of someone using both Lupron and Mirena at the same time. I am going to ask around to see if anyone can help me with this response.

As for the Lupron me personally I got worse. I can't seem to handle progesterone only or Lupron. I used Marvelon bcp continuously for 8 yrs and its the only thing that helped me out.

When you were diagnosed during surgery did they remove all the Endo or was some left behind? I have heard that if the Endo isn't completely removed its possible that you will keep on bleeding if you are trying to suppress it. That is what I heard not sure if it is true or not but I will find that out too. :)
