Need some help...please

Ok. I am 40 yrs old. I had a tubal ligation done a year ago and my Gyn found endometriosis while he was in there and did an ablation on what he could get. I wasn't having too much trouble...painful periods, I thought that was the normal for me. I did have back pain down into my legs too, but again I thought that must be normal for me. It wasn't ever to the extreme where it would totally bring me to my knees kind of pain. Anyway, the pain had become alot worse since the surgery for some reason and now I'm almost in a fetal position when the cramping starts, so my Dr. put me on birth control pills and told me that if I started to spot to take two at a time til the spotting stopped. I was on the bc for about 3 weeks and started a full period so I started taking 2 at a time like he said. OMG I have been bleeding heavy now every day for the past month and passing large clots...gross (sorry). All this while I'm taking 2 bc's a day. I called my Dr. and he said to just give it 3 months or so for the hormones to level out, but I don't know if I can stand 3 more months of this. Heavy bleeding with severe cramping...I don't know what to do. Anyone have any good ideas?

Thanks so much for your comment. I spoke to my Gyn. He is really pushing me to go on the Lupron shot. He said it would chemically induce menopause. I am really afraid of that shot. I have heard bad stuff about it from a girl I work with that had it. I also did some internet research and it doesn't look good from what I've read. I don't know. My Gyn acts like that is all he is willing to do for me. He doesn't even want to try a different bc pill. I do know that I am going to stop taking these stupid bc pills. I am tired of bleeding.

I would not be prepared to wait 3 months with severe cramps and bleeding, I know that hormones can take a while to level out on birth control pills but the ones you are on may not suit you (there are so many types). I would go back to my Doctor and tell him that these problems are interfering with your life and sleep pattern. If the pain and bleeding get too bad go to the ER , you do not want to end up with Anemia. Good luck.

Best wishes
