Premarin

by PrincessJam, Jun 30, 2009 02:52PM
I was on 6 months of Lupron and ended in March.  Still waiting for my period to return.  I was just given Premarin and agyestin to try and "jump start" my period.  Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.

I was on Lupron for 6 months.  I was pretty much pain free during those months.  My period hasn't even returned yet, and I am having a little bit of pain now and again.  They said the surgery and lupron was supposed to provide like 5 years of pain relief, but I think it's already coming back.  Have you been put on constant birth control, like a pill or patch?  When I was on that and not getting periods, that seemed to help. Have you tried that??

I had a laparoscopy - 6 mos of Lupron shots - and another lap.  It took me several months for my cycle to return and I was then put on Premarin.  What dosage of Premarin are you on?  My dosage is .625 per day.
Hope things get better for you......

I think it's the same amount, I am on it for 25 days, and then on aygestin for days 16-25.  How long did it take you after your second lap and treatment of Premarin to get your cycle back? They say after the 25 days of Premarin, I should get a period between 2 days and 2 weeks.  Hopefully closer to 2 days !!

Hi there.  I had a laparotomy due to the presence of a 6 cm cyst with the chance of being cancer, last December.  It turned out it was an endometriomasa and the doctor was able to drain it without removing the ovary and I was given a 3-month Lupron shot.

They did a transvaginal ultrasound and ran the CA -125 marker, three months after the surgery and there were no signs of any kind of cysts or adhesions.  The marker came in the normal range and now, 6 months after surgery, my period came back without taking any meds and although I have some pain and are bloated, the doctor says it's normal and that I should take something for the stomach pain and enzymes to feel better.

I think that the body has to react and go little by little to its normal functions and I feel quite well considering all that I went through.

Hope this info helps and best wishes.
