Scar tissue and Endometriosis

Hi there,
I have just had my laparoscopy done on wednesday.
The surgeon said I dont have endometriosis but he removed
Alot of scartissue.
I had an Ectopic Pregnancy a few years ago resulting in losing
A tube, is this what has caused all of the pain?
And is endometriosis and scartissue different??

I would do some research about the Mirena before you take it.

I have found that hearing what others have gone through on certain medications helped me decide my form of action.

Just because a doctor suggests it doesn't mean you have to do it, ultimately the decision is yours to make.

If there were lesions found it was probably Endo.

What I am hearing is this surgeon wasn't a specialist and they should have told you after the surgery what happened, what they found, what to expect and the course of treatment.

Make sure you ask for your results to take them home with you. Always keep the paperwork.

Thanks for your feedback :)
No just surgery from ectopic pregnancy and the lap as my gp reckons i have endometriosis.
It was a surgeon from the public waiting list, he specialised in keyhole surgery but not sure about endometriosis.
All he said was he found alot of scartissue and removed it and said something about lesions, i was very drugged up so didnt ask anything else.
My gp also stated to have a mirena fitted.
Symptoms i have are similar to women with endometriosis;
Severe pain causing fainting, nausea
Diarrhoea
Pain in lower back
Hot flushes
Pain during B.M and P.U
I am seeing my g.p in 5weeks time to check on mirena so i might be able to get more information off him

Welcome to the Endometriosis Forum :)

Have you ever had another surgery? PID?

The removal of the tube could have formed some scar tissue after.

Scar tissue causes pain yes but it is different then Endometriosis.

Endometriosis is lesions and can cause Dense adhesions to form as well.

Who did your surgery a regular Gyno? Do you know if they looked in the cul de sac? usually that is where it is missed.

What symptoms were you having?
