Well the first thing I think of is why a laparatomy? Why can this not be done via lap with small incisions? I had Stage IV endo and I mean it was everywhere, everything was like one big ball and I also had very deep implantations of endo, bowel and bladder endo and it was done by a lap.
why remove the ovary? What is the problem with it?
My advice would be for you to get a second opinion because of the doctor is a good surgeon and specializes in endo there would be no way he/she would perform an abdominal surgery.
the only time would be if something happened and they had no choice during.
Just my opinion however.
Always shop around for a good gynea and 2 nd opinion like ticked said!
My first lap has left me full of keyloid scars and did more harm than good! my 2nd lap was neat, scars healed straight away, and water was left in my uterus for over a week so my organs wouldnt re-stick together, i looked like I was pregnant with a jelly baby but it was the correct method that the first gynea overlooked! basicaly my first lap made things worse, 2nd helped me. But raise all this at next appointment, always let them know that youve done your homework! and never be afraid to ask anything of them!
