reoccuring endo

I was diagnosed with endo with a laproscopic procdure in March 2005.  Thankfully had my son a year later and also had uterus removed.  I then had a surgery in July 2008 to remove large cyst and ovary, but they left one in.  Come to find out I had more endo lesions in there. Surprise.  The doctor though is just doing a wait and see approach instead of trying to prevent it.  I have no health ins and the last surgery went real bad so to have another one is not an option.  I do not want it to come back  I have been in pain most of my adult life only 28 but still feels like a long time.  they did not remove other ovary so I will not go into menapause at this age.  But I know the chances of it coming back are high and i would rather be proactive then reactive.  They have tried birth control before, but that did not work.  It did not fix the pain and i just looked pregnant.  any advice would be helpful.

We make to much with just my husband's pay to qualify for assitance through the state and the only ob gyn that will take it is the one who wants to do the watch and wait approach.  The initial surgey to take out the tumor and ovary went wrong because they had nicked the bowel and did not realize it.  After four days at home and then back in the hospital for four days they found it, but by that time I had turned septic with abcesses up and down my body including by my lungs.  After an emergancy laporatomy and seven hours of cleaning up my insides because of all the leakage I had a colostomy and a thirty percent chance of living.  I developed pneumonia and with a breathing tube was in the hospital for a month. The breathing tube in half of it.  So maybe it is not can't but the fear of having this happen again.  I already had to have another laporotomy in Nov to reverse the colostomy which my husband had to convince me to do because I was scared to death of another surgery.

Do you have any type of public assistance? Maybe you could try the Depo Lupron. It suspends your periods, thus supposed to retard the growth on the endo. It's expensive but if your doc can write something stating its necessary, maybe you will get some assistance in paying for it. If you don't mind my asking, what went wrong during your surgery where you can't have the other ovary and tube taken out?

Good luck and keep us posted!!
