microscopic endometrosis,why so much pain?

Hello! I undergone a laparscope yesterday for chronic pelvic/abd pain. They did find "microscopic"endo on bowels..not alot according to my surgeon. However I did have alot of adhesions on right side, that caused my small bowel to be tangled around large bowel, those adhesions were taken care of,but not sure if its from endo itself or  complications of  ruptured  appendix last yr.My question is if it wasnt alot, how could it cause me so much pain and problems..just the area it is in? it was not found in pelvic area or ovaries.Surgeon  says it is also possible that is behind my bowels and organs too so he isnt sure the extent.
What is the best treatment or birth control for this? prior to laparscope with endo being suspected I was on yaz but didnt seem to help.Any advice/input appreciated.....ty!

Steph,
I'm so sorry that you're going through this, I know that you hoped that things would be so very different once you had the surgery.  Just remember that after anesthesia the bowels are usually the last part of the body to begin fully working, maybe you're like me and it's just taking some time.  I wasn't able to have a bm at all for almost 2 weeks after one of my laps, that was miserable!  Finally broke down and took dulcolax, boy when it started to work I knew it!  Funny story about that, my daughter and I were walking in to Wal-Mart when it kicked in, I looked at her and told her that Mommy had to go to the bathroom right now.  Of course I was at the front of the store and the bathroom was at the back, she looked at me and said "This is like having a baby, but much messier."  I had to laugh...hope you do too.  Chin up, Steph, we love you here!

I cant tell the difference yet because I'm still sore from surgery, but I 'am still hurt during bm's..but prob from surgery. They took off what they could so I'm hoping I see some improvement in pain. The adhesions literally "glued" my small and large bowel together, but I still have the horrible rectal pain.I'm gonna look into a bowel specialist and get another opinion.

I had a colonoscopy done before my surgery and there was nothing.  I had my surgery and it was all over my bowels. I would find someone that specialises in endo of the bowel. I have a great surgeon.  I had the same sharp pains before pretty much since i was 15. they would come out of no where even when i didnt have to go, it was like knife pains or something.  Once the cysts and the adhesions were removed off my bowel it has been like heaven you have no idea.  I would seriously look into finding someone knowledgable of this kind of surgery.

I have wondered that about endo showing up on a colonoscopy also as I had one a few months ago.  I think that maybe it would not show up because the endo would be on the outside of the colon.  I am sorry.  I would try to see a specialist and ask them what advice they have for a course of treatment.  As far as the pill there are so many that sometimes it is just an experiement to try and see what one's work.  Maybe it is time to try a different one.  Good luck.

I had to call dr today cuz pain meds were not helping. It isnt microscopic,I misunderstood,I guess I'm still a mess inside and adhesions are all over my bowels and surgeon did lazer what they could. What is the next step....a bowel specialist? I have painful double me over bm's (stabbing pain) bowel issues, and this may be to much info, but it takes me over an hr to complete a bm (thats sitting on the "throne" for over a hr!!) I also wonder if i have endo in my rectum since i have constant rectal pain and urge for bm's,I had colonscopy last yr but gi dr said it was normal, wouldnt endo  shown up on colonscopy? I'm at my wit ends with this pain and knowing this surgery isnt going to help it get any better!!~~frustrated ):
