I would talk to your doctor about it. They can then put your concerns in your file. Also when the anesthesiologist comes in be sure to mention it to them too. They will do all they can to keep you comfortable. I go to my doctor/nurse all the time with random questions, they always make me feel better about it. Don't worry about sounding like you are freaking out about it either hun. After what you went through last time I think you have every right to be worried. Be sure to tell them about your last lap so that they know why you are so worried too. It helps them know what to expect and what to prepare for. Good luck and I hope it all goes ok for you.
Definitely mention it to all the docs involved in your procedure. Also, have whoever is taking you in for the procedure mention it too, since by the time you are being prepped, you'll likely have taken a mild sedative and be a bit out of it. Hospitals don't always take pain control seriously, so you may need to remind them of its importance for you. If necessary, point them to one of the pain associations that provide guidelines and recommendations for pain management in hospital settings. These are widely accepted and adopted now, though implementation is still lacking, as you know from experience.
Hope your next lap goes smoothly and peacefully.
