Okay so I asked this question to Dr. Redwine as it made me wonder about Ovarian Endometriomas and regrowth and this is what was said. He is a pioneer surgeon for this disease and the most knowledgable. He is retired now but answers questions and so do those with a lot of knowledge,. This is a response from one of the women there that works along side with him on this website. If he didn't agree he would have said so

Ovarian disease is the most difficult to eradicate. Endometriosis can be "buried" deep inside the ovary and therefore even if endometriomas are expertly excised, they can reoccur

I guess I am just lucky that I myself have not had reoccuring endometriomas. I always thought that being on the pill helped. At least now you got the right answer.

The first surgery I had when I was 21 it was cut out the others were laser I've had the both mostly laser tho. She put me on the ortho tri cycle and depo for a while but it made me sick and my cycle stayed on for like a month. The last cyst I had removed were bigger then the last one. Yes I have had the same surgeon and obgyn since I found ot I had endo.

One I would find another doctor for starters. That is the most ridiculous answer I have ever heard from a doctor. Good Grief!!

I am assuming since you have had 5 surgeries that you have Endo and its confirmed. Are the cysts Endometriomas?

Has the same surgeon operated on you everytime?

Was excision (cut out) done or laser, or both?

Are you taking anything to suppress ovulation or periods? This will prevent the cysts from regrowing.

For the love of God please do not listen to that doctor.
