removing overies

I have had a partial hysterectomy and had my cervix and uteris out but kept my ovaries in because of age. I have endometriosis and the pain got worse after the operation. Went to the gyno and he suggested I take Synarel nasel spray for six months to see if it will take my pain away, along with my hormones and will have menapause symptoms. I am not sure what to do and just want the pain to go away.

Thank you and unfortunately i am in australia and am trying to find someone that can help me a bit more. Not only have I had that done but have had about two Laparoscopies and had my tubes tied first, then the cysts grew back and the surgeon called and said she advised the partial hysto but unfortunately this pain will not go away and I don't like to take medication cause of a liver operation I had about 3 years ago. I have had it.

Gee, that's tough ... if you stop all hormonal action from the ovaries, you might get slammed with hot flashes, and if you don't, you'll have endometriosis pain.  I once was talking with an RE who mentioned in passing that he was really good at finding endometriosis that other doctors had missed; maybe you need to find a doc like that.  If  you want to pm me, I can tell you his name, but given that he is in Portland, Oregon this might not help you.  However, I'd sure look for a doctor who is very good at finding and removing endometrial tissue that  has migrated to the wrong place, before I'd consider removing the ovaries or even trying to stop their function.  Good luck.
