EBV linked with hives?

i went to the hospital last night because i had an outbrake of hives and have not been feeling well for weeks. the docor thought that maybe i had hepititus A because my liver function was slightly off.  i got a call this morning saying that i tested positive for mono.  now the hives iv been getting, or what i would assume are hives come and go rather quickly and mostly show up on my hands and feet... they will appear, last about 45 mins then go away. they look like somewhat thick welts that itch. they show up about twice to 3 times a day but i never wake up with them. is it possible that EBV causes my hives? or might there be a more serious underlying cause!? the hives almost copy what is going on in a bilateral sense, if they show up below my right thumb they will show up below my left thumb etc. PLEASE HELP!!!.

I have the same problem! I've just been dx with MONO, age 59, so it's ridiculous... I have welts on my arm and face, and the bottoms of my feet and my mouth are burning (other than the other symptoms, of course... headache, malaise, fatigue, sore throat, swollen glands, etc.)

Anyone else here this old dx with MONO??? I think I already had it, too; both the old test and the new test (IGA/IGM?) were positive.

What does one do for immune dysfunction? Thanks.

What has your physician said about your hives ? I can only tell you that recently some people in this forum were discussing rashes that they had... this often happens in people with immune dysfunction.

How are they treating your mono ? And are you on treatment for your hives ??
