I had a little trouble reading your post but I think you mean that you tested positive for hpv6 and have never had symptoms? Out of curiosity, why did you have your dr test specifically for hpv6?
Hpv can be dormant in the body for many years as a matter of fact. Hpv tests will only return a positive result for active infections. Many people have no symptoms at all. Considering that genital warts is the only symptom of a low risk strain of hpv, it's not surprising. It all depends on your immune system. This is why so many people are unaware they have hpv.
There is a lot of conflicting research regarding whether hpv ever leaves the body at all. I personally feel the individual has the strain for their lifetime but that over time, they build immunity against it and may never experience symptoms again.
As I stated, hpv can have periods of being dormant and being active. It all depends on your immune system. Stress, inadequate amount of sleep, poor diet, and illness can all contribute to an hpv suddenly becoming active.
If you have any questions, mosey on over the the hpv forum :)

Are your symptoms consistent with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome ? If so... I could give you plenty of links and advice. I've had CFS for years.
