Unfortunately, there aren't many doctors that treat this.  I don't have one, my primary care doctor doesn't know enough about it to do anything but prescribe anti-depressants which alot of people take. I am not depressed so don't want to start on them. Maybe your doctor can send you to a rheumatologist? You might have more going on than the EBV. What does your doctor think it is?
He doesn't think you have fibromyagia but he put you on medicine for that?

My symptoms 4, almost 5 years ago, were extreme sore throat, muscle aches and pains, headache, it was horrible. the worst I have ever felt. At the time, I didn't realize what was going on.  It is a very long story (I have written several journals about my different issues) but about 2-3 years ago, I started having all these problems, extreme fatigue just started one day and has never let up.  I have other issues, gastro/gyn/heart related. I truly believe that it all stems back to that period where I was so sick. I was never like this before that.  So no, I am recovered from that illness but not from the CFS and other issues.  I am trying different supplements to help me feel better but that is about it. I tried to find a local doctor but there just isn't one.  The closest center (Fatigue and Fibromyalgia) to me is Atlanta. Those doctors know what they are doing and how to treat this problem. There are a few others around the country. I don't know where you are located. I believe there is a link to finding a doctor. I will see if I can locate it for you.
Let me know what happens.

What kind of doctor are you seeing? You would need to see a specialist. I had EBV about 4 years ago and I was so sick but now it is basically just the CFS - extreme exhaustion.  You are suffering with alot of symptoms. Let us know, your doctor should not be ignoring them.

I had CFS after having mono. EBV was the trigger for my CFS... but not the cause, although it could be contributing to my symptoms. I have an underlying bacterial (not lyme) infection.
