Hi RTH002, not to downplay what you're going through, but I don't think you've had EBV long enough for it to be considered chronic. I would think that you have an "extended" bout (please keep in mind I'm not a doctor), but for a case to be considered "chronic", it usually needs to last significantly longer than a year. The only treatment for EBV is to get LOTS of rest! You can also try eating healthy and taking vitamins; not saying for sure it will help, but it certainly won't hurt. Finally, as pittperpat said, you will not die from EBV (90% of people have it by age 30). Your test results all look high to me. I think it's good that you saw an internal medicine specialist, but I would recommend an infectious disease specialist, if possible. Obviously if you still feel sick, and your results are positive, you ARE still sick (not sure why the doctor would tell you you're fine). Don't be afraid to ask any more questions, and really try to get lots of rest!
Hello pitter,
How can I reduce my fatigue.I am living in Dubai.I met an Internal medicine specialist,he told that yuu had EBV infection, but now you are perfectly all right.I think he is not an expert to treat E.B.V.Here in Dubai, all the doctors not bothered about E.B.V.
Where can I get the treatment for E.B.V.
Is ayurvedic or homeopathic treatment make better effective than allopathic..?
No, you will not die due to chronic EBV. Death due to EBV/Mono is very, very rare. And no, there is no treatment available.
