5'5'', 106 lbs and on a swim team. I'd say your brother was just doing what brothers do, picking on you. Pay it no mind. If you are on a swim team, you probably lose any little bit of excess fat you have, and will probably end up putting on some muscle weight. I was on a swim team when I was younger and looking back the pictures, she will end up with muscle in your thighs. Don't fret about your weight, just eat healthy and play sports, stay active and you'll stay healthy throughout your life! Good luck with the brother!

Hi, I'm 13 years old, and I am not overweight at all, but I would like to lose some weight off my thighs. I have been on swim team for a month, and I have lost 5 pounds. I weigh 106-108, and Im 5 ft 5. I eat pretty healthy foods, except in the evenings after swim team I eat a lot because I'm sooo hungry.

My family is pretty healthy, but I don't like it when they buy drumsticks (ice cream) and potato chips and other junk foods, and I can't help eating them (Only for dessert or after a healthy meal) I know it's okay to have snacks like that SOMETIMES, but I don't want to eat more of it than I should.

So back to my main problem: thighs. One time my brother poked my thigh and said "your jubbly." Not quite sure what that meant, but I assume it meant jiggly/fat. How can I lose thigh fat?

Hello!

After implementing a proper eating plan and regular cardio activities you can achieve your goal.

Discuss with a dietician in your hospital and plan a diet chart, after discussing what her all food items you are interested and what all you have to avoid.

You can do walking, running, jogging, skipping, cycling or swimming for half hour regularly.

Take care!

Hello!

Dieting is a strict no for your age. Let your growth take place further till the age of 19 and for that you would need proper regular carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Cut down fried food, oils, fats, junk food and fast food.

Eat healthy and indulge in sports to lose your body fat. Talk with a dietician and note down a complete list of food items to be avoided.

Take care!

Would you suggest any type of diet, or is it not good for me to do diets since I am only 14? Because a lot of people I know have told me that diets aren't that good when you are under the age of 16. Is that true?

Hello!

At your age I would suggest sports and swimming and you will lose the extra fat very easily. Avoid junk food, sodas, fast food and desserts completely.

You can also indulge in running and skipping and you will lose all the extra weight with these activities in the next 6 weeks. The weight you put on last is the first you will lose. The initial fat will go the last.

Take care!

I am only 14, but I am a bit overweight for my age, I am going on a trip in 6 weeks and really want to loose some stomach fat before I go. Stomach fat is my main problem at the moment, so I will take any advice onto how I could loose it, or even some of it before 6 weeks is up. txs

THANKYOU!!! I totally agree, I also have lost alot of weight on low carb. Feel better than ever and am healthier. You are absolutely correct. If "they " promote low carb diets then there would be no need for all the big pharmaceutical companies to produce all these drugs for Diabetes, heart conditions, obesity, cholesterol, high BP on and on. Which are all casued by poor nutrition. ALL disease begins in the digestive tract, which in turn creates the parody of all other illnesses. High processed carbs are BAD BAD BAD for your health and your waistline. Fresh meats, vegetables and fruits are all good for you. If it has ingredients you cannot pronounce don't eat it. Low carb IS healthy, as long as you control your saturated fat intake. Too much and you are back to being unhealthy. Fat does NOT make you fat, carbs do!

You must remember that BIG corporations are here to make profit. They dont really care what you eat.High carbs cause DIABETES remember..I am a R.D. by the way.So I did  go to school to learn all of this along with personal experience.
I have lost 120lbs on ATKINS like 5 years ago.My cholesterol went down and my body fat is 20%.I know many people that are healthy while doing Atkins.Read the book before you comment. It is not all about bacon, and fat....People on atkins eat more veggies than the average american...according to Harvard studies.

LOW CARB DIETS ARE BAD. Ex: what would happen if someone stayed on the akins diet for 3 years? well...if there not dead, there body would supplement fats and proteins for its energy and you would start to look frail and white and give off a certain stench. eat 60% carbs 20% protein 10% fat. Do lots of cardio, and lower the amount of calories you eat by 500 once or twice within the 6 week period.

I know that initailly your first week or so you will drop the most weight(probably most likely water weight) It will taper off, and as you said the body does change alot daily. Sometimes more water, sometimes less, fat moves around also. I would suggest STOP looking at the scale and judge by your clothing. If you are lifting weight you will obviously replace fat with muscle. It sounds like you are doing well. Keep on working out and following your diet and you will do fine. I am glad to hear that all is well with the cholesterol and such. That REALLY is more important than how you look physically. I am the same way, still about 35-40 lbs overweight but all is very good on the inside. I would rather have it this way than the other way. Wouldn't you?  I think it is because I have always eaten healthy and loved to exercise. Just wasn't doing enough (I suppose) to drop the weight. Once I hit 35 it sure got alot tougher. Best of Luck.
