Is my coach over training me?

4 days a week i have to run for my basketball conditioning and i am normally last becuse im not in the best of shape i weigh around 180 pounds at 6ft. Anyways my problem is when i start running my heart starts beating really fast and i get tired really fast my coach tells me it all mental and that i can do alot btter but the problem is it gets so bad i cant even breath right i start hyperventilating. I'v been running for 6 weeks now and iv improved slightly I'm way behind every1 else when they run. I dont mean to sound like a baby but kids make fun of me i kinda get mad. Can some1 explain to what i should do or what i am doing wrong or even if i might have a condition of some sort.

If the doctor says you are AOK, then just keep it up and you will get in better and better shape. Then you will be more fit and strong and able to keep up.

It's a great sign that you are improving after only 6 weeks. You have to push yourself to get into good shape. It gets easier the more fit you are.

Trip to the doctor is the first step.  If O.K. with the doctor, talk to your coach and talk to him about your experience.  What he sounds like he is doing is trying to provide you with an aerobic jogging workout to improve the heart muscule capabilities in addition to overall condition for your basketball games.  Because of your heart rate, you may be going into anerobic levels.  The key: Communicate with your doctor and your coach.

hi - a trip to the dr wouldn't hurt and would certainly give you piece of mind.  you could also describe the level of training and see if he or she thinks it's too much.
