if you run alot sometimes you can suffer with a pain called shin splints caused by heavy pounding of the feet, you can insert insoles in your trainers , but if yu are suffering pain from the ankle up towards the knee resting and keeping your feet up for a day or two and apply ice and also take ibuprofen that help to take away the inflamation, i do no that this works as my daughter does this after she has done continuous runs with the army , because every now and again she suffers with shin spilnts
hi ishtar807,
what you have heard is partially right. But what is concerning me is that it's over a month time since you have started jogging, but the pain is still persisting. Am i right?I want to know your weight and height. Sometimes there cam be some stress fractures over the shin of tibia, which can be a cause of pain while exerting. So , if the pain is bothering you, you can go for a bone scan of your legs, and if some undiagnosed stress fracture is present, it will be clear in it.
I am asking for bone scan and not x-ray as minor stress Fractures are undetected in the X--rays as the bone should be more than 30% destroyed for it to be soon on the X-ray. So bone scan will pick it up easily.
SO please do it and let me know. If you have other queries, you are free to ask me.
thanks
