Need To Get In Shape

Hi,  Would anyone know of a slow but steady exercise plan I could start, possibily with light weight training? I had surgery a few months ago, but am healed completely now. I have been released from my doctor. He didn't seem to know of any exercise plan I should use. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

What is your age and what surgery have you undergone?

How are you doing now?

You could try yoga and not do the ones which have excessive stretching involved.

Regards.

Thank you for your reply. The weather is getting better where I live, so I think I will start out slow. I do love to walk. Its just hard to get old. Ha! Now the yoga? Does that involve alot of stretches?

How about walking?  You could start out with a 10 minute walk daily, then gradually increase the duration & perhaps increase your speed. After a few months, you may even want to jog. I also recommend Yoga. The stretches are really helpful. You can purchase videos or DVDs & work at your own pace at home.

Hi,
What kind of surgery you have undergone?
You should be starting with mild exercise involving smaller repetition and fewer repetition sets. You should involve all muscle groups for exercises.
As you build up further then you can increase your repetition and more sets again with different group of muscles.
Slowly you would be able to build up your stamina and you would increase your muscle strength too.
Keep me posted if you have any queries.
Bye.
