Stomach Pain

I posted once before but have not yeat received any comments.  Wondering who can adivse.  I have what I believe is unique in that if I try a certain excersie that involves the stomach, the muscles tighten to the point you can actuall see the muscles protruding from the stomach area. The pain is excrutiating and it lasts until the muscles "relax" but then the entire stomach area is sore. While I do a good deal of exercising including running, weights, sports, I cannot do Pilates or any other activity that uses stomach muscles. This can even happen if I bend over to tie a shoe. What do you think I have and how can it be corrected?

Hi,
You would need to visit a neurologist for the Vagus related problems. Vagus is a cranial nerve and the largest of all and it is the 10th cranial nerve.

Need also to do a mineral estimation in your blood to know about the mineral balance.

Take enough rest, proper sleep and rehydrate yourself with water and salts.

Always have healthy breakfast and balanced diet.

Take care!

Tom it's not unique but it seems to be rare!  I too have "stomach contractions" as I like to call them, and the only thing that undoes it is laying flat out on the floor on my stomach and pushing up with my arms (arching my back) to stretch my stomach muslces.  Do you also get extremely high temperature and sweating and lose energy during the contractions?  I've had many tests over the past 20 years but no one seems to be able to find a cure. However, naturopaths have told me in the past that I am low on potassium and magnesium, and I know I don't drink enough water, but crave bananas, avocados and watermelon, so sounds like good advice there from Vitor!  I am also researching whether it is caused by a faulty vagus nerve which effects muscles all over the body, including the stomach.  Will let you know if I find anything worth considering.

Im not 100% sure about your condition but I do know that there is usally only two things that cause muscles to cramp and that would be lack of water in the muscle or lack of potassium in the muscle. Possibly lack of both since potassium holds water in the muscle. You can also see if your getting enough magnesium because if your lacking magnesium your almost sure to be lacking potassium. And if your lacking potassium your almost sure to be lacking water, and if your lacking water you can be sure one of your muscles are going to cramp. I know you can get magnesium through nuts and seeds. you can get potassium through potatos, banannas, watermelon, peaches, avacados.Good luck.
