Thanks, I've never tried yoga before but will check some sites out:-)
good going heather , 2 hours a day is a sufficient and hence with this you have to maintain a good balance between intake and burning the calories .
if u maintain this , you will not have to exercise a lot .
and have a small schedule of yoga also , it gives you strength all over the body . yoga is best preferred exercise for maximum health matters .
Hi, thanks for your comment :) I'm managing the two hours. I do an hour in the morning and one in the afternoon. I have to say it takes a lot to motivate myself sometimes but I'm obese and I need to lose the weight. I tend to look on food as how long it would take to work off on my exercise bike or rowing machine. That keeps me away from high calorific foods for sure !
Crikey, 2 hours a day... That's possibly a little unrealistic. 30 minutes every day is a great habit to develop and and then build it up to an hour most days.
I'll go for a bike ride for hours but I can't imagine doing anything else for so long... quality versus quantity!
You certainly don't need to join a gym. There is plenty you can do in your neighbourhood although snowy winters may have an impact. There is a sites I saw recently based around using public play grounds as gyms - and therefore free. Adults normally exercise early in the day, or in the evening so you shouldn't have to worry about kids being there. Anyone who sees you will be impressed at your ingenuity so don't worry about the public-ness of it.
A friend who lives in an apartment block with external stairs and walkways reports that many Mums create a walking circuit. They get fit and they're never far from home if they are needed.
