Running and foot and leg pain

Not sure if this is the right forum but there isn't a community foot/podiatry section.

I'm a fit and healthy 25 yo male. I have started running in the last couple of months. I go once to twice a week and do between 1-4km, sometimes using a treadmill, sometimes around an oval/lake.

In the last couple of weeks every morning when I wake up my left foot/ankle hurts to put pressure on it. I hobble around for 5 minutes then it seems to be ok and I'm fine all day. I've noticed it also happens if I sit down for an extended period. I think the pain is in the joint, more on the top where my shin meets my foot.

Does anyone else experience this pain? Will it go away as I get more and more used to running?

Any advice appreciated.

Let me get back to you on some exercises to do. try applying moist heat for about 10 minutes a few times per day. Heat brings blood to the area!
Icing it also re leaves the pain.

Any more comments. I still suffer from the same problem, a pain kind of on top of my foot where the foot meets my shin, but feels like its in the joint. Only hurst for 10 seconds or so first thing in the morning when I put weight on it.

Don't want to see a orthopedic doctor if I don't absolutely have to as it will be quite expensive.

It probably won't go away! Are you using a good running shoe? your treadmill
should be on an incline between 2-7% max. The track at the lake shouldn't be a hard paved path. I suggest seeing an Orthopedic doctor that specializes
in feet. A podiatrist should be your last choice if you can't find an Orthopedic doctor ( that is my opinion on the type of doctor)
