too much exercise?

I am extremely paranoid about gaining weight. I recently lost almost 20 lbs on the HCG diet and don't want to put it back on. I'm not really overweight, but I'd like to lose a little more (5'4'' and 137 lbs). I feel guilty when I eat, so I make up for eating by exercising. (I eat between 1600-2100 calories, depending on the activities of the day.) So for about a month now, my average exercise week consists of 1.5-2 hours of intense exercise (things like spin and pump classes) about 6 days a week. Is this a big problem, or am I ok doing this? I don't want to hurt myself, but I don't know what else to do... I feel guilty ever missing a good hard workout.

I turns out that the "feeling of guilt" when eating and the "making up for it" by exercising is actually the same symptoms of an eating disorder. Don't let yourself fall into this category. You do seem to be eating plenty for the amount of activity you do, but honestly a 5'4" female your size shouldn't be eating any more than 1600 calories a day, just to maintain her weight! The only concern I would have with the 7 day a week heavy exercise (body pump and spin are my favorite too), is that your body doesn't get a day to repair it's muscles and other sundry parts. This could increase your chances of developing conditions like tendinitis and osteoporosis later in life. Don't let your muscles starve your body of nutrients just to keep up with your activity! Take two days a week to rest, professionals do it too. If you can't sit still, take a brisk jog.

Hello!

At 5'4" and 137 pounds your BMI is 23.5 and normal and I would suggest you to maintain this.

If you are eating around 2000 calories of healthy diet with 2 hours of intense exercise it is fine.
Do not squeeze your calories below 2000 as you are doing intense spinning and pumping exercises.

I would suggest you to take care of yourself and do not injure yourself, if you are doing all forms of cardio with caution and by wearing proper foot wear then you can continue.

Take care!
