zarinea:
true double vision is totally different than the thread started by the original poster about "monocular" dipolopia or double vision in one eye.
will your double vision go away? most likely if it is caused by your medication.
I have been taking Neurontin for bi-polar disease and neurological pain. Twelve days ago, I developed diplopia (double vision). My doctor does not know why I developed it. My own research has shown that neurontin can cause double vision. I am reducing my intake of neurontin and plan on not taking this drug. Will the problem go away? One doctor I saw said to stop taking neurontin.
i seriously doubt you have "irregular astigmatism". thats fairly rare, and very interesting. your eye doc would have definitely mentioned SOMETHING to you if you had this. they would not just tell you that you were fine. irregular astigmatism is not a common condition at all. it is much, much more likely that your rx is incorrect.
having the problem with the computer at 6" in the right eye with or without the glasses on...that still suggests incorrect astigmatism rx. it does not (to me) suggest "irregular" astigmatism.
thanks.
Although I do think there is something wrong with my right eye ie if I look at my computer keyboard from 6 inches away with my right eye open only I get a slight ghosting of all the key board letters - this happens with or without my glasses on.
Some literature on the internet suggest an abnornal astigamitism???
no. it does not suggest a problem with your eye. it suggests an incorrect Rx. probably either uncorrected astigmatism or IN-correct astigmatism.
go back and make him/her fix it. tell them the same exact thing you typed above.
