Strange Eye Episode

A strange eye episode happened today. While I was driving my car, i stopped at a stop sign, I turned my eyes to the left to see if anyone was approaching, when i straigtened my head and eyes to go forward all of a sudden my eyes went bezerk, i don't know how else to put it. I had to pull into the first d/way because i couldn't focus on any one thing. The only way to describe it is dolls eyes, like when they're in those plastic covers and you can shake the eyes about. I started to panic & i looked up at my g/friend and said, "omg, i can't focus, my eyes are moving all over the place", but she said, no, that they were normal and not moving. Like i couldn't get my eyes to stop moving about to focus on anything. The best way to describe it is as if they were like a muscle spasm, moving very quickly & not able to focus on any one object. Everything was clear, not blurry, but they were just moving very quickly and i couldn't stop them, as i said, to focus on any one object. This has never happened to me before. Now, shortly before this happened, my g/friend had sprayed a new air freshner in the car that she bought.  I am type 2 diabetic taking avendia and i had just taken a few sips of a cappucino coffee (i spoiled myself to something sweet for once) but that's it. Any suggestion what caused this and has anyone heard of this before?
Sincerely,
Megankalu

nope.  dont know.  if its an isolated event and does not occur again, dont worry about it.  if its recurrent, go to the eye doctor.

diabetics who have blood sugar changes have known varying Rx's..that could be it.

you should be going to the eye doc annually anyway...are you?

its more important for diabetics to have an annual exam than it is for most people.  diabetics are at risk for retinopathy (bleeding in the eye) and diabetics also sometimes have vastly changing spectacle/contact lens Rx changes.
