A related discussion,
trying to help was started.
I forgot to mention that bright lights make it hard to see and I have trouble judging things with depth.. for example how full the container of cheerios is for my son - to know if the lid will fit on it.
I also have seen some flashes of light. It also seems like there is a curtain down a slight bit in the top part of my right eye.
Whatever is in my eyes I think the doctor said is or did cause detached retinas.
Just trying to find out some sugguestions of things to check out as to what is causing these lesions or "things" in my eyes.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks for answering my questions. Blood tests and a Petscan have ruled out cancer. They see something in my eyes but can't figure out what it is. I think it has them stumped. Next will probably be a MRI of my eyes to get a closer look. Can they do a biopsy of what is in my eyes or don't they do biopsies because of the danger of messing in the eyes?
They mentioned maybe a possible problem with muscles. Any other thoughts on what it could be or what they should check out in my eyes. I have a 9m old and had a hard labor... I'm wondering if it has something to do with that.
I live in PA... any thoughts as to who the best eye doctors/eye clinics are around me? John HOpkins vs the Wilms in Philly???
Thanks again for taking the time to give out advice.
a fundus exam is dilating your eyes and looking at your retina. a fluorescein angiography is injecting dye into your arm and taking photos of your eye as the dye reaches the back of your eye.
blood tests for cancer: there are a BUNCH. like "LDH". see this link:

tests for MS:

Hi! No I haven't had the tests you mentioned. I've had a mammorgram, sonogram on breasts, and a CAT scan on my lungs. Doctor is scheduling a Petscan.... she cancelled MRI on brain and CAT on lower abdomen.
She was going to order blood work but didn't. I'm not sure she knew what to order. What exactly should they be checking in my blood?
What is a fundus exam? Also can you tell me what fluorrescein angiography is.
I did the reading as I mentioned earlier about people with MS having lesions in the eyes but the doctor hasn't mentioned that. How do they test for MS?
Also how can they tell if these lesions in my eyes are cancer?
Thanks for answering my questions.
ONLY
you are already doing all the tests you could do. mri, blood tests, fundus exams and you've probably had a fluorrescein angiography...
there's nothing more to do. i feel bad that you feel sort of helpless and out of control, but you're already doing all the right things.
