15 year old son with aura for 4 weeks

My son was diagnosed with optic migraines a couple months ago.  He had a MRI which came out clean except slightly thickened sinuses.  He was checked by an eye dr and his retinas are fine.  His vision has been affected 4 and a half weeks now.  It is there when he wakes up until he goes to bed.  He complains of flashing lights, colored blobs, floaters and more recently, the lights at night outside are very bright and he sees two white lines on the road instead of one.  He has an appointment with neurologist but cant get in for a while.  He is miserable from this and he says he cannot concentrate at school.  He has had a couple good days and then it comes back.  Could this be anxiety?  I take him for acupuncture and that doesn't seem to help either.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for your comments.  I really feel medication is not a good answer for a 15-year-old.  I actually feel this condition is anxiety-based at this point.  I am not glad you have that, but I am glad you let us know we are not the only family going through this.  God bless you, and may we all figured this out soon.

hello stenoguy5 I doubt much can be done until you get in to see the neurologist. Medication usually can prevent these problems from occuring.
