My Dad had an operation in his right eye almost three months(3/20/2014) ago to remove Pterygium. He went to his dr several times and each time he saw a red/dark spot over his Cornea causing him not to see.He took two drops , one as stride and other one to reduce the inflammation, but the dr asked him to stop both and to see him around sept/2014,. also, the dr asked him to do new glasses which he could not because of that dark spot which caused him not to see the LETTERS.
Is that normal?. can his eye sight get better or that is it for him, he cannot see using his right eye any more?
Can you let me know how often that Pterygium surgery end up with a dark spot in the center of the eye and could not let the patient see as before?. In case that happens a lot is there any cure for it?? What I have to do to help my dad get his eye sight again in a normal way? Is there any medication or exercise he might take or do??

does Alphagan help me with suppressing pterygium related inflamation and redness?
the surgeon said it will. he asked me to use this as i am steroid responder.
doctor, do you mean the consultant would ask me to wait for 3 months to wait and see if surgery is needed OR do surgery after 3 months?
surgeon asked me to use Alphagan - 2 times a day, is it a mild steroid?
2 weeks ago he asked me to use the steroid Alrex 4 times a day for a week, but my pressure went a little high so he asked me to use alphagan.
I doubt if a consultant would do anything other than tell you to wait 3 months. You might ask about a mild steroid to resume.

also I see some bumpy region on the operated area.
Likely the consultant just watch it for another 3 months. Surgery is generally not done for redness which eventually fades (lots of cases like yours can be accessed with the search feature) only if the pterygium grows back over the cornea.
