Anisocoria

Can Anisocoria be caused my  Psuedotumor Cerebri (PTC)/ Intracranial Hypertension?  I am not shunted, I have had PTC for years, 3 years ago I had a major CVA to to High ICP... since my PTC has been worse but only within the last 2-3 months I have noticed my Left Pupil much larger then my right and reacts sluggish-not at all.  I was seen by a resident at my Neuro-Opht yesterday and he had no response to my question, So that is why I am asking, I have an appt. with my Neurosurgeon January 23rd in hopes he decides to Shunt me

It could I suppose if that eye's nerve was more significantly damaged than the other side and your vision is affected.  I would still run the usual tests we normally do to rule out serious problems that could cause anisocoria (you could look up the differential diagnosis online).  I would assume they have already done MRI/MRV/MRA to make sure you don't have any aneurysms or other abnormalities, tumors, etc.  You need to call the neuro-ophthalmology department and ask what is going on with your pupil.  Is is something they have picked up on for a while and know what the cause is or are they just overlooking it?

They overlooked it till my last appt. when I pointed out my left pupil being larger, he seemed very stand-offish till I gave him a CD with 15-20 pictures on it that I took over the week between my first appt and second appt.  He reviewed them and said that it was Anisocoria, I did ask him about it and if it's from my IH and he replied by changing the subject..lol?                                                  .. I had 2 field vision test the first appt., The NO requested I come back the next week to have a third field vision test done by a specialist vs. the computer controlled test.... after that test they took pictures of my Optic nerves.  The resident did not go over much with me (Note: is was 5:45pm) lol   But I  on my first appt. the NO said that my vision field was off, red's and greens were more hard to see, I had enlarged blind spots, thinning blood vessels and calcium deposits in my retina... I honestly thing the Resident was thrown off a bit and did not know how to explain things...he had this confused look many times... I know he was busy and had a lot going but I was hoping for answers, where my eyes stand as of now......   I have no SH, micro bleeds, tumors exc.. my last MRI and CT were done about 2 months ago  .......I will do more research on the subject online and I will call the NO tomorrow to get some more answers, THANK YOU so very much for responding Dr.Vosoghi....  PS: My Neurosurgeon should be able to look at my NO report, pictures and tell me more, Correct?
