Eye spots

     I woke up yesterday morning with a black squiggle going halfway around the vision of my right eye. It is wider at the top and has a tail that goes around the eye, as if going around the retina. I tried the eye exercises that sometimes work with black spots but they are not working. At night the eye had white flashes like lighting bolts. Is there anything I can do and is it caused by the same thing the regular black spots are?

I was told to move my eye up and down fast and it would help break up the gel that causes the dark spots.

The problem has now been in existance for a few days. My eye is now burnung some.

What exercises are you talking about?????  There are none that I have ever heard of.  These symptoms are suggestive of a possible vitreous or retinal detachement if they occur sporadically throughout the day.  If just a special episode lasting about 15 minutes, then that could represent a visual migraine or something else. I strongly recommend that you see an ophthalmologist for a complete exam.
