Complications for ex-planting a Crystalens

I had cataract surgery in one eye about a year ago. There were many problems but the opthamologist would not entertain the idea that it was a lens problem. Now, much later, I finally got online and found that these problems are common with this lens. Is there anything I can do about it or have I waited too long?

This is the best news I have had. Are you saying that the light show in my eye, the loss of my night vision, the cloudiness and the halos might be fixable with PRK/LASIK or LRIs? Pardon my redundancy but I am really scared. I would gladly come to California for treatment.

It is very difficult to explant a Crystaltens at this point.  It can be done.  However, most problems with the lens can be corrected with other techniques such as PRK/LASIK, or LRIs.

If your insurance and finances permit it, why don't you travel to California to see Dr. O?  I traveled to Memphis for retinal surgery after the top local specialists said that nothing could be done for me.  It turned out to be one of my best decisions ever.

The loss of night vision is not a problem associated with a Crystalens.  Most problems are related to residual astigmatism or refractive error.   These usually can be corrected with glasses.  If so LASIK/PRK can correct it.  Also, many night vision problems are associated with PC opacity (which a yag can reduce) or a mild constricting drops such as Alphagan or Pilocarpine.  You should find a Center-of-Excellence" in your area.  Look on the Crystalens website.  Google Oyakawa and youtube and you find my video on exchanging a Crystalens.
