Crystalens Problem

I had Crystalens implanted in Feb of 2013.  I have had my up close and intermediate vision doubled.  I had an astigmatism and dry eye but was told I was a candidate (I was 58 at the time)  I have seen two doctors and am now headed for a third opinion.  A Yag was performed as were plugs on three different occasions.  No one seems to be able to give me an explanation.  Its been nine months.  My question is.....Can it be removed and replaced with just a regular lens ?  I have paid a fortune to have this Crystalens implanted and now have worse vision than before.

My distance is better about 50% of the time, my up close and intermediate have been double since day one.  Will a RK,AK or PRK procedure help with up close ?  I have made a third opinion appointment, but can't get one until February.  Thank you so much for your prompt reply.

Replacement of the lens is a fairly aggressive approach, with quite a few risks. You need an answer as to why your distance vision is worse, and a touch up to fix that problem can be done with RK, AK or PRK surgery. Your original surgeon should explain the problem and its solutions to you. I would recommend that you find experienced crystalens surgeons to answer your questions during your second and third opinions, as this lens acts differently than other lenses.
