No cannot generalize. Talk to the "specialized" doctor.

it was a 'proper' doctor at the specialised eye casualty. is there a general answer you may be able to give over how dangerous retinal bleeding is?
many thanks
Key question: Was the "eye doctor" you saw a physician MD ophthalmologist. If so you should get this information from him/her. Call the answering service today or the office tomorrow. I cannot answer those questions.
If you saw a non-physician, non-MD, limited eye care provider optometrist (he/she will not have MD after their name but the non-medical degree OD) then you have not had a proper exam in my opinion and you should see a ophthalmologist today (find one at www.aao.org).
