Do I have eye allergies, What relief can I get

I have been tested for allergies and have many, it affects my through migranes, redness or itching at a particular site, sinus problems.  I have been on many allergy prescriptions and none have helped, I even took allergy shots, I had reaction at the site the shot was given and never experienced any relief.  Over the last several years I have had problems with my eyes that I have blamed on allergies.  My lids (all or part of them) will swell, they will get red patches on them, they itch, they get scaley, they burn, under my eyes will swell, and my eyes will continuously water.  This eventually clears up but always comes back.  Nothing I try helps-eyes drops, nose sprays, antihistimines.  Several months ago I went to my doctor and was given creams that did not help, an antibiotic that did not help and eventually a predinisone prescription taken by mouth cleared it up.  I have it again and will be going to the doctor soon.  No one has an answer, not even an eye doctor or a dermatologist, any suggestions?

Sounds like a problem I had   awhile back. Mine was allergies.....dermatologist told me to stop using soap on my face. I tried several facial cleanser......Neutrogena works best for me....the brown gel in clear bottle. I gently cleanse my face with my finger tips and splash water on face to remove the cleanser. I don't use a wash cloth on my face....Do not use moisturizers around your eyes.....special eye creams are available for the sensitive eye area. Hope my regimen works for you. I know how miserable you feel.....

Help is still out there. I suggest you see another Eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in external eye disease/corneal diseases. You may need to go on low dose steroids, NASAIDS, Restasis.

A University Medical School Dept of Ophthalmology is a good place for hard to treat or hard to diagnosis problems.
