Eye pain

This is my first time on this website.  I have probably a vry simple to answer question.  For the past two days I've had fairly moderate pain when moving my eyes left or right and up or down.  My eyes are a little red, but not to severe.  What could cause something like this?  My eyes also feel like they are bruised if I touch them through my eyelid.  Thank you for your help!!

Thank you for your help.  I just returned from the eye doctor.  it turns out that I have dry eye syndrome.  He prescribed eye drops for me that should help get rid of the dryness. Is this a common thing?

You could have very dry irritated eyes or severe allergies - just a couple of possible causes.  Start with artificial tears like refresh tears or sytane every hour or two and make appointment to see ophthalmologist as soon as possible to make sure you don't have a significant problem.  Your symptoms are definitely NOT normal.
