Eye problems

by amc09, Jun 25, 2009 11:55AM
I had pink eye two months ago. Since then I have experienced very dry eyes, to the point that I can't open my eyes in the morning because they feel dried shut. I were contacts and have also noticed blurry vision and extremely sensitive to sunlight. My eyes also begin burning in the evenings
I took the eye drops for pink eye and made sure to change out all makeup and through away the contaminated contacts. I don't know if the pink eye has anything to do with my current problems or if it is just a coincidence. Can pink eye result in these problems?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi~
Last year I had pinkeye for almost three months straight (they think I have blepharitis). Every time I thought it was going away it would come back with a vengeance. After it finally cleared up, my eyes stopped producing their own tears. They were so dry in the morning and night (especially in the morning) I would have to pry them open with my fingers. I'm still having major problems, but one thing that has helped A LOT was going on Restasis. Be wary though... my doc also told me to take some drops that had an antihistamine it it. It counteracted what the Restasis was supposed to do and left me worse off than before. You don't realize how wonderful tears are until they're gone. : (
Good luck!
