Please avoid washing the eyes out since it will cause further irritation and more discharge. I am unclear if you still need to be on vigamox?  These are often complex cases and require attention to the lid margin and the abnormal tear film.  Sometimes a brief course of steroid drops and gentle cleaning of the lid margins and aggressive treatment of dry eyes are in order.  For some cases commercial lid cleaners like sterilid can help as well as oral doxycycline for select cases as well a oral flax and fish oil.  Each case requires a custom approach and I don't know what you need so you need to stay in close touch with your ophthalmolgist.  Plugs may or may not help depending on the degree of lid margin disease.
