High eye pressure

My eye pressure after cataract peration, my eye pressure was 50, how serious is this , ple4ase advise Thanks

     Thank-you    I am on drops, (about 7 different ones) I do have glaucoma, Pressure was checked yesterday now at 44, See the Doc. again to-morrow.Were going to use pills, however they contained Sulfa, I am allergic to sulfa drugs . Thanks again

Your pressure should not stay above 30 for more than a day or two at most.  If it is still above thirty tomorrow, they may need to consider intervening.  Do you already have damage to your optic nerves from your glaucoma?

Not too serious as long as they started pills and drops to bring the pressure down within hours.  Needs to be monitored closely the first few days though and later you should be checked for glaucoma to make sure you don't have it.  In my experience, patients who have pressure spikes after cataract surgery (assuming routine), are more likely to have a predisposition for glaucoma.
