Hyperopia Children

I found my daughter's eyes are crossing.  I observed that her right eye "iris" goes inner to the nose part. So, I took my child to an eye expert.   She's just 3.7 years old and  I have taken her to  three optha. and the last one was pediatric opthamologist. My daughter was diagnosed with hyperopia "accommodative esotropia' .  He suggested my daughter to wear glasses and be back after 2 months for another check up.  Right eye spe +3.00 , left +2.75,  My question is, do I have to let her wear glasses. We are worried.  Any effects (good/ bad)  for a younger child like her wearing glasses?  The other an optometrist suggested vision theraphy, exercise, right eye patching for every 4 hours every day and proper nutrition.  My question is whom do I follow.  If you have another suggestions please do help me.  Thanks a lot!

Please take my advise and have your daughter wear her glasses full time as directed by her pediatric ophthalmologist.  This is extremely important!  The training of pediatric ophthalmologist is very thorough and should be followed carefully.  In  a true case of accommodative esotropia, proper glasses can be very effective.  Be thankful that surgery does not seem to be needed at present.  Basically it is good news - but PLEASE make sure the glasses are worn as directed.  I see no case for vison therapy is this situation.

Thanks a lot!  Your answer provides a great help for us.  We started to let our daughter wear glasses.  I have another question.  Does children who have hyperopia are not allowed or are limited to watch TV or use any electronic devices as the doctor told us.  Could you give me some ideas on how to care for our child.  Sorry, she's our only child.  So, everyone around is so conscious and worried for her.  Again thank you very much.  Are there any things to be observe while wearing glasses, too?  I'm just to ignorant about this problem.  Sorry, I really never heard of this problem until our child was diagnosed.  But I'm so thankful about this website.  You really help a lot of people like me. More power to you all!!!
