I can't remove a contact from my eye

I've had a contact stuck at the top of my eye for about a year and I have had a 24/7 headache for the same amount of time. I'm sick of it. I've tried taking it out many times, but I can't. I've been to two eye doctors and they both said that nothing is there. I know it's there because it never came out and I can feel it's there. Please help!

You could possibly seek the care of an opthamologist at a large academic hospital.... such as John Hopkins, Cleveland clinic, etc... I hope you get help soon.... I have had to get third opinions on health issues in my life, as some doctors agree, and some don't. Good luck!

Dear contactstuk,

I would recommend that you seek a third eyeMD to determine the cause of your symptoms.  I would ask for a complete eye examination to determine the cause of your headache.

Possibly, your continued attempts to remove the contact have made that eye irritated and dry.  Perhaps one of the forum doctors will have other suggestions for you.  My only other idea would involve consulting a third eye doctor.

Yes, but if that was the case both eyes would feel as if they have a contact in there.

It's really easy to lose a contact lens without realizing it, especially if you are new to contact lens wear.  If two doctors can't find the contact in your eye, it's undoubtedly not there.  Sometimes when your eye is dry or irritated, it can feel like there's a lens stuck there.  (I've had this sensation myself once at the end of a long day.)  OTC drops for dry eyes might help.
