I'm worried my blood pressure meds are giving me glaucoma

Never had an issue with high iop till yesterday.  Last yr it was in the high teens in each eye.  Yesterday I went to a new doc and they did 3 readings for each eye.  One reading was 24 and the lowest was 18.He didnt seem too worried after doing the visual field test,  and looking at the pictures of my nerves.  Then he did the dilated inspection and said everything was fine.  He said we'll check on it again next yr.  Next yr?  Im worried out of my mind now.  Depressed and angry that nobody seems to have answers.  I'm 31 and really myopic,  but never had eye pressure issues till now.  The only other thing I can think of is cellphone use,  and he did say to cut back on that.  Also he had the readings re-done at the end of the exam and they were about the same.  I was blinking like crazy because my eyes were dilated,  but Im still worried and can't wait a yr.  I dont want to start treatment when peripheral vision is screwed. Any advice?

Let's back up a few steps. Several decades ago I was reading my newspaper and noticed that I was able to see the print with one eye without my glasses on. My Physician confirmed that my Blood Pressure Medication could change my vision. He changed my meds and my vision went back to what it was before. Call your Physician for advice.

I saw an optometrist.  For some reason,  they took  3 readings for each eye.  This was a new eye doc and they never did that to me  usually the doc sits down and carefully does 1 or 2 reading themselves.  This machine seemed to be automatic and dide a serious of readings on each eye.  I eas blinking like crazy.  A couple of reafings were in the high teens,  but the 24 and 22 scared me.  He claimed my nerves and everything looked normal,  and field test was normal,  and he just said to check it in a yr.  I go yrly anyways.  Ladt yr it was in the mid to high teens.  The yr before it was in the low to mid teens.  3 different docs.  I usually go with who has the best deal at the moment.

Im going to try to get a referral to an ophthalmologist next month.

My official diagnosis was ocular hypertension and pre glaucoma or something. Im scared it could also be my cell phone use.  I stay on it way too much.  Its basically replaced my personal computer.

You did not say whether you saw an optometrist or ophthalmologist.  If you did not see an ophthalmologist, you need to see an ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma for a complete exam.  You need to have the corneal thickness measured (pachymetry), since a thick cornea will cause the eye pressure readings to be artificially high.  You also need a gonioscopy exam, to check the depth of the anterior chamber angle.  Eye pressure readings fluctuate constantly all day long, and can be higher if you were tense, holding your breath, or squeezing your lids when the measurements were being taken.  Myopic patients have a higher risk of glaucoma, which can sometimes be hard to detect in the optic nerves since the optic nerves can look abnormal due to the myopia.  It is likely that you do not have glaucoma, but see the specialist to be sure.
