Dear Dr John C, Hagan
Thank you for your interesting information. I should point out that my acuity is unaffected by the darkness or lightness, so basically my sight is unaltered. I am very familiar with the Charles Bonnet Syndrome since I suffer- or rather should say, enjoy it. It only affects my left eye which is totally blind. John Lund
Given your are almost blind I would suggest that some days your brain pays more attention to your eyes which would be your dark days and other days more attention to your visual cortex in your brain which can generate images and light like phantom pain is generated after a leg is cut off.
There is a disease called Charles Bonet syndrome in which totally blind people can see just like watching a movie. It all comes from the brain machinery running.
