Does blepharitis really cause a lot of pain all around the eye?

I have blepharitis, diagnosed at Morefields eye hospital London and confirmed at Westfields eye hospital London. I went for a second opinion because I couldn't believe this could cause so much burning pain around my left eye while showing no redness or gunk.

My eyes are clean and infection free, I've had a month of anti biotics and follow a cleaning routine - with baby shampoo. But my left eyes still hurts all around, behind it and towards the inner part by my nose. The eye pain is worse during the night. Eye drops and lubricants don't do much. Is this normal?

It's definitely not normal and blepharitis might be part of the problem but I suspect there is more to it.  Dry eyes and allergies can really play a role as well.  Talk to your ophthalmologist and see what else can be tried.  In other words you are doing all you can for the blepharitis and it's getting better but your symptoms are still an issue.  It sounds like time to go to plan B.

I think, the sore eye is dry and that is causing the problems. I have discovered when I sit with my humidifier I can relieve the pain.
