Lower eyelid painful...

So, I woke up this morning with something strange. My right eye was kind of sore; not exactly all over, but on the lower lid right where my tear duct is. After washing my hands in the shower, I touched in just a little to compare the two lower eyelids and the one on my right definitely feels harder. Here's my question -- is this pink eye coming on? Because I've watched it all day and, besides being a little sore when I close my right eye tightly, there's no redness what so ever... The eye looks normal. Now, I've had a stye in the past that turned into a chalazion and I'm absolutely horrified at the prospect of this happening again... Any ideas what this could be?

Also, I've been suffering from seasonal allergies, but, basically, just nose congestion. Could this be related?

Hello superrya   Generally pink eye or conjunctivitis doesn't start like this. If it's not hot, red and tender (like a stye), it may well be another chalazion (a blocked, non-infected eyelid oil gland). You can start warm compresses, clean your lids well with dilute baby shampoo or over the counter Occusoft eye lid cleaning pads or TheraTears SteriLid eyelid cleaner.

You might make an appointment for early next week with an eye MD physician (Ophthalmologist) in case it gets worse.

Also, since this seems like an early sign of something, is there anything I can do to prevent it from worsening...?
