Vision getting blurrier quickly

I am a healthy 45 year old male.  2 weeks ago I woke up and my right eye was swollen halfway shut.  Monday I went to the doctor and he gave me an antiboitic called Ceftin (1 pill 3 times a day).  Diagnosis:  Possible spider bite.

I took the antibiotic as directed and woke up Tuesday (the next day) with both eyes completely swollen shut.  Back to the doctor that day and gave me a second antibiotic (can't remember the name but it had the word "sulfur" in it 1 pill twice a day).  Diagnosis:  Facial Cellulitus.

My eyes opened by Thursday but I noticed that my vision in both eyes was very blurry.  Back to the doctor on Friday he gave me a sulfur based eye drop (2 drops twice a day).  Diagnosis:  Staph infection.  Took all the antibiotics and eye drops until completed.

By the following Monday my vision had continued to get blurrier so I sought out an opthamologist two days ago.  He checked my eyes and gave me antibiotic eyedrops with prednisone and sulfur.  My vision is continuing to get blurrier...very fast.  This has been going on now for almost two weeks.

I feel at this rate I will not be able to see at all in a week.  I don't have a clue where to go from here and I do not want to lose my sight.  There is no pain but I do notice I have to put forth extra effort to move my eyes to any extreme position (left, right, up, down).  My eyes aren't bulging but there is still a small amount of swelling above my eyes.  When my eyes water (3 to 4 times a day now) it is thick and sticky.

What should I do next?  What is wrong with my eyes?  Thanks to anyone who can help me quickly.

Dear Brett411,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD and/or emergency room and determine the cause of your blurry vision and pain. IT is possible that you have an infection or inflammation behind the eye.

Thank you Sandy for your quick response.  I am already under the care of an opthamologist.  Is that what you mean by an eyeMD or is that a different type of doctor?  Please forgive my ignorance, I have never had trouble with my eyes before and am not familiar with all the terminology.

You mentioned a visit to the emergency room, is this an emergency?  Will my vision return to normal?  I forgot to mention that my eyes have become EXTREMLEY sensitve to light.
Thanks again...
