Ocular herpes? need some help

Hello doctor,

I was dignosed with HSV1 on April 2nd 2009. I had sex with a co-worker in March first week so I may have contracted it from her. But I never had any "outbreaks" whatsoever
in my body so far.
On April 7, I was feeling some pain/buring in my eyes and so I went to the doctor and asked him about ocular herpes which he declined. At that time I was seeing some rashes

inside my eyelids which I never noticed before and I thought they were normal so I didn't worry about them. After 2 weeks, around 23rd april I started having problems with my

both eyes. Symptoms were burning, little redness specially later in the day, scratchiness but no itching, no light sensitivity but little eye pain and I could feel the pain on

the eye nerves on the both sides of my head. On 1st May, I had a severe headache that lasted for one day along with my eye issues.
I went to the optometrist and he said that it is because of dry eyes and my eyes are clear and gave me some artificial tears but I thought it might be a "mild outbreak" of

ocular herpes so I went to an opthamologist yesterday and she told me that it is chronic meibomitis and prescribed me RX Azasite for one month. She said, my eyes are clear and

there are no signs of herpes at all and there is no need to test it further. She didn't take any sample from my eyes to test but she looked into my eyes with microscope or

whatever instrument they use there.

Now my questions to you,
1) I have never had any symptoms of hsv and don't know if I have this orally or genitally. So could it be a "first mild outbreak" of ocular heres?
2) I am feeling little pain on both sides of my head between eyes and ears because virus is settling there? Or could it be ocular migrain?
3) Could chronic meobomitis occur because of HSV1 outbreak?

hoping to get some insights on this,

Thanks,
Tom

Dear worriedguy17,

I would recommend that you try the treatment the eyeMD recommended to determine whether this will help.  I would also recommend that you speak with your eyeMD about your concerns.
