Pain 2 years after vitrectomy

I still have quite a lot of pain all around my eyball (cramping-type pain) and even headaches, even though my vitrectomy in that eye was two years ago.  Is this normal?  What could be causing this, and what can I do for the pain?

If you have an encircling band or scleral buckle, they can rarely cause chronic eye pain.  If you don't then perhaps you have something like chronic dry eye syndrome, or allergies or another inflammatory type conditon of the eye or the eye socke or the sinuses surrounding the eyes.  I've seen hundreds of people with previous vitrectomies but never seen someone with your type of problem so I'm not sure it has anything to do with the vitrectomy surgery - but something is certainly going on. I think you just need a good second opinion with an excellent ophthalmologist in  your area.
