Parafoveal or Juxtafoveal Telangiectasia complications

Last year I started having symptoms similar to TIA's even though the drs have not found the source.  Shortly after the first episode I started having blurry vision and when covering one eye noticed distortion in right eye's vision.  I saw my Opth. dr and she sent me to a retinal specialist who verified the telangiectasia.  I just had another exam and he said that my problem had stabilized and, to him, looked better.  However, I've noticed that my vision is worse.  The distortion area is not larger but has changed from morphing to the object disappearing.  Hard to explain.  I have PTI in both eye but the right is worse.  Now it looks like I'm cross-eyed or have my reading glasses on crooked when I use both eyes.  Since my exam showed no worsening he's not going to do anything.  I get nauseas at times from this.  Could it be optic nerve damage?  I'm having other symptoms of neuropathy in my neck and thoracic area of the spine.  Recent MRI of the brain, neck, and upper back are normal.

Your really  need to separate eye doctors, your retinal specialist and a general ophthalmologist to look into your possible double vision and eyes feeling crossed.  I am a little concerned that you could have at least two separate problems which might both be related in some way to poor circulation and hardening of the arteries.  Make sure you make an appointment with a general ophthalmologist for a complete exam.  Your retinals specialist may be able to recommend a good one.

Dear Thorninside,

I would recommend that you seek the care of your retinal specialist and discuss with him the symptoms you are having.  He might want to perform an Amsler grid test to determine or visualize the macular issues.  I would also recommend that you have your glasses checked by your eyeMD and you seek the care of an eyeMD specializing in neuro-ophthalmology to put together all of your symptoms.
